Three Principles, Revisited

Welcome, beautiful traveler. I greet you with the holy word, "Love."

Possibly, we all need reminders once in a while -- I know I certainly need a lot of them. I have about four thousand pages worth of journals in my closet, and when I go paging back through them I am often struck a bit numb by how regularly I encounter the same repeated problems, and the same wise lessons learned -- and then forgotten, and then relearned.

So in this entry, I'm reminding myself, and any of you who've read back to the start of this blog, of the three principles of my religion. (Most religions make a great show of repetition, so I'm not sure why I feel the need to justify this covering of old ground, but there it is anyway.)

The three principles are:

Thankfulness

Generosity

Love

I'm not going to describe them in any greater detail at the moment. Hopefully, they don't really need that much explanation anyway. But they bear repeating.

They bear being dwelt upon.

They are their own reward, and I hope that you will help yourself to them.

Thank you, goddess of love, for good things known over and over and over again.

Lovingly yours,

A devotee

these are the principle that ought to be ingrained in us, because they make us feel deeply integrated! Love is the byproduct of both , attitude of gratitude and compassion!

Mona,

Obviously, I agree! Strangely, though, even people who recognize these truths often have trouble remembering to live them.

Do I get a 55 this week?

Devotee,

I have missed you and your blog.

I want to thank you for your lovely telepathic birthday wish and emoticon.

I think you rock.

Your blog somehow calms me and soothes my worries away.

Be well.

Much love.

Thank you for being you.

Strumpet!

You can't imagine how delighted I am to hear from you. Because you share so many travails on your blog, I couldn't help but worry somewhat during your absence. (I'm a worrier, it's sad but true.)

Thanks for your kind words - I am honored to be of help!

Love,

Devotee

I've been worried about me too, frankly.

But, being back on my blog has me heaps less worried.

And having just caught up on your blog has me feeling full of good things.

Your words make me smile and make me all tingly inside.

I read your blog and it makes me feel good to be alive.

You have a most excellent way of looking at the world.

Strumpet,

It's unfortunate that we sometimes have to work at feeling good to be alive. It ought to be the most natural reaction.

But it's a great first step to recognize that you can work at feeling good.

It's also lovely to know that I can work at doing good, and that my efforts in at least some small way help make the world better.

Thanks for letting me hear that!

Devotee

p.s. All the comments are SO appreciated, and I'll try to get to them to reply in the next few days, but I have had a pretty hellish couple of weeks and need to crash now. Toodles!

I hope your days have been less Hellish.

From the new post, it sounds like you are really physically tired, so I hope you are taking very good care of yourself and taking your vitamins and eating your veggies and getting lots of protein.

I send you lots of love and smiles and happiness and rock 'n' roll.

^_^

Well, the Project from the Black Lagoon that was terrorizing me has been cancelled, so that's less hellish, and I should have a couple of days off, which is good. But I've got some kind of repetitive stress deal going in my wrists and forearms from too much typing, so I won't be able to throw myself into writing or blogging or commenting to the extent I'd like.

Still, I'm feeling MUCH better, though I could undoubtedly do with more veggies.

: )

I love veggies!

Especially zucchini.

I need to eat more veggies lately myself. I'm usually really good about it, but lately I've been so preoccupied and I haven't been my usually healthy self. The past couple of weeks have taken a toll on my normally well-thought-out food intake.

Take care of those wrists so you can get back to typing.

I will miss you while you are recuperating.

I actually kind of like zucchini, but every time I see the word, I think, "Ugh! Zucchini!"

I don't know why that is.

I wrote a 55 about zucchini once.

If I had your skillz, I'd put linkage in your comment arena for you.

But, I do not have your computer whizziness.

You should teach classes.

I would so have fun being your pet.

I'd bring you apples.

And zucchini.

Linkage is pretty easy. You know the greater-than, less-than signs that you can use to bracket HTML tags? (They're right there under the "Leave your comment" box.) There's a tag that goes in them for linkage.

You open it with

a href="http://www.whateveryou'relinkingto.com"

and you close it with

/a

Be sure you actually add quote marks around the URL you're linking to.

That will be one apple and one zucchini, please.

Oh, wow.

Sorry I got so excited about leaving you a comment that I left it twice.

Whoops.

Okay, let's see how well I have learned today....

fun with zucchini

I think someone tried to teach me this before, but I wasn't very good at retaining the information.

Hopefully, this works.

And, if not...

I guess I'll try again.

Regardless, I have an apple and a zucchini for you and also some Halloween candy.

Yum.

Strumpet,

Well, that link certainly did its job in a fine fashion!

If only the poor wife had a husband who would appreciate the full recipe ... but then the 55 probably would not have been quite so scrumptious.

I loved your explanatory comment as well!

You are one literary vixen.
